Still Lifes by Pierre Clément

Still life paintings offer so many wonderful visual possibilities, and here at Paragon we’re lucky enough to represent several artists who are masters of the genre. This week we’ve just put on display the newest collection of work from the studio of Pierre Clément, and we’re huge, huge fans.

Pierre Clément, “Pears and More”

Pierre’s objects gather together like actors on a stage. Expressive, enigmatic and radiant, each piece plays out a quiet drama upon the canvas. A keen observer of those precise details that bring our daily experience to life, Pierre imparts a dazzling poetry to the material world.

A lifelong painter, Pierre originally trained as a scenic artist in the theatre. In addition to his studio practise he also works as a decorative artist on commercial and residential projects throughout Britain and Europe.

Pierre Clément, “Dorset Evening”

Whether it be the way sunlight falls on an empty glass or the way a bowl of fruit can assume an almost human character, Pierre’s paintings are full of visual surprises that take our breath away.

We have seven original paintings on display in the gallery, which can also be viewed on our website HERE.
