Her instinctive expertise for the tactile qualities of oil paint and sensitive depiction of light and shadow allow her to imbue her subjects with poetry and sensuality. A single stroke of pale violet on the skin of a pomegranate or the crimson blush at the heart of a rose will electrify an entire canvas.

Each of Raquel’s paintings is a labour of love that can take many, many hours to complete. For this reason, we are rarely able to exhibit more than a handful of her pieces at a time.
