Introducing | Millena DeMille

Millena was raised in Poland’s beautiful Masurian Lake District. She then moved to London and worked in interior design. Millena has developed a distinctive style, using a preferred palette of natural earthy tones and metal leaf. Inspiration comes from the unsurpassed beauty of nature: the vast and the minute, the ever-changing, the always new and visually fresh.

“I am fascinated by the natural essence of colour and it’s dependence on light as the ultimate illusion tool. My gilding technique gives me a way of capturing beautiful moments without forcing them into static forms”.

Millena’s paintings are interactive. They transform according to varying sources of light, either by blending in or by reflecting surrounding colours. They are presented in her own hand-made and hand-gilded frames.

Millena was selected to exhibit with the Royal Academy for their Summer Exhibition in 2022 and her painting sold on the opening day.
