Nick was born in Manchester in 1970. He studied at Cheltenham College of Art before moving to San Francisco where he lived for 10 years. He returned to England in 2008 and is now based in Stroud where he works as a full time sculptor.

Nick has worked with various metals over the years, experimenting with different mediums and forms, including figurative work and installations. The main focus of his work now is creating stainless steel wall sculpture. His primary interest is in the transference of energy from one state to another, and it is these state changes within the fabrication process that he focuses on.

“I see the piece as an echo of an event, a capturing of a moment in time, where not only the physical energy changes are apparent…the oxidation of the steel giving way to different colour bands, the contraction of the cooling steel causing warping of the plate…but so is my energy that has become incorporated into the work”.

Nick’s work is held in private and corporate collections around the UK, the USA and Switzerland.
